Working in the trades is in my bloodline…

A fact I didn’t begin actualizing until touring my childhood home weeks before my parents sold it in summer of 2022. I looked around at my father’s fine craftsmanship, especially in the details of the deck he built that I helped stain. The textured and printed walls handcrafted by my mom were done so well more two decades ago, that they still look great today.

Cleveland State brought me, a girl from Oil City Pennsylvania, to Cleveland in 2010. One month after graduating from CSU with a degree in biology, I launched an exterior residential painting franchise. After experiencing trauma a year later, I stopped painting and began a journey of self discovery over the next few years. I eventually landed in retail working for Sherwin Williams which peaked my fascination with their innovative paint.

And then, I met my partner and moved with her to Costa Rica. I dabbled more in entrepreneurship while living in the jungle and we eventually moved back home. I chose Ohio City because it’s the best place to live in Cleveland. After almost a year of getting back into painting, 2020 happened and my entire worldview shifted. I had a line in the sand moment, quit my job, and launched your favorite paint company, Ohio City Painting.
